Quality Assurance Consultant

We are looking to add a Quality Assurance Consultant to join our Creative Risk Solutions team in Waukee, IA. This role will assist in the design, development, and execution of test cases and strategies to ensure our developmental releases meet our quality standards. In collaboration with our business teams, they help to ensure that our changes continuously meet our business expectations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with development and business teams to understand business requirements and ensure they are reflected in the test plans.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure the quality of the Maverick system and other CRS applications.
  • Execute test cases, report defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not adversely affected by new developments.
  • Utilize data to identify trends and patterns that may indicate potential quality issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test automation scripts to improve testing efficiency once automation technology is available.
  • Participate in release and sprint planning meetings to provide input on quality aspects and testing timelines.
  • Document and communicate test results, issues, and concerns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes and business best practices standards.
  • Closely monitor cases the morning after development release night to triage any incoming reports of issues, bugs, questions or feedback.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance process documentation.
  • Ability to work after hours and on occasional weekends based on deployment scheduling to perform testing and provide feedback on issues should they arise.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of software development and QA methodologies
  • Basic understanding of test automation concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Ability and willingness to consistently participate in internal and external educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of current insurance topics or relevant system improvements.
  • Ability and willingness to pursue relevant designations and/or continuing education, as appropriate.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull objects.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with our Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: CRS experience, training, and/or education. Familiarity with the Maverick System preferred.
